The Chilterns, Part 2 (March 25)

The four-mile loop we walked took us to three churches, all original to Saxon or Norman times (plenty of refurb since then). Whereas many of the old churches in larger towns were razed along with abbeys and monastaries in the period between 1536 and 1540 (Henry VIII's "Reform" that separated the Church of England from the Church of Rome), not surprisingly the many small churches outside the city centers survived. This first church dated from the ninth century and was built next to an enormous kinda wacky yew tree--in fact, claims a plaque in the church, this very yew tree:
